Stunning Classic Convertible Car Bridal Portraits in Savannah || Riding in Style with an Austin Healey + Ivory & Beau Bridal Boutique :
Many years ago, my father embarked upon a journey of building an Austin Healey kit car. After working all day in a suit and tie, he spent many nights in the garage building piece by piece one beauty of a car. And many, many years later, the red Austin Healey finally was complete. Except for one minor detail – – La Furia, as I like to call her, has a mind of her own. At least once a year, La Furia visits the doctor, a.k.a. the mechanic, for a some kind of ailment. More specifically, La Furia always seems to be sick or become sick when I visit her in Savannah. I promise I’m a good driver and not the cause of La Furia’s ailments – – because y’all, all I want to do is drive this beauty of a car. Well, drive AND photograph La Furia! Since last July, I’ve been dreaming of a stunning classic convertible car bridal portrait shoot in Savannah with La Furia and the lovely ladies at Ivory & Beau.
Unfortunately, July in Savannah is just a tad bit too hot and humid to wear a wedding dress outside. But, the weather during the Fall months in the lowcountry is just perfect so I started coordinating plan B. Until Hurricane Mathew had other plans and decided to invite himself to spend the night in Savannah right as I was flying back to Savannah from Costa Rica for my Fall trip. Off to plan C I went, until La Furia decided to take an extended visit to the doctor and foil my plans. No problem, the amazing ladies at Ivory & Beau and I decided to carry on and shoot during golden hour at Delegal Marina without La Furia.
I guess word got back to La Furia what she was missing out on, because sure enough a couple days after I sent the edited photos from the shoot at the marina to Ivory & Beau, La Furia returned back home from the mechanic. I promised her that the next time I was back in Savannah she would have my full attention and be in the spotlight. And thankfully she agreed to behave and not make another trip to the mechanic because I was already coordinating Plan D! Finally, FINALLY, during my holiday trip in Savannah, the stars aligned! Y’all, all I can say is OH-EM-GEEEEEE! These stunning classic convertible car bridal portraits are some of my favorite work!
La Furia, I’m so glad I finally got to photograph you and hopefully next time (if you’re not on another one of your trips at the doctor), I’ll get to be in the photographs with you! In the meantime, at least Gidget decided to show her modeling skills and pose for some shots with you!
To the lovely ladies at Ivory & Beau, thank you for sprinkling your magic fairy dust with such a gorgeous dress, veil, and amazing model!
