Planning a baby bumps photo session in the heart of rainy session here in Tamarindo, Costa Rica can either go two ways – a gray, rainy day or a breathtaking, dramatic sunset sky. Ever since Kara contacted me in August to photograph her growing baby bump while vacationing in Tamarindo, we have been crossing our fingers for the latter.
Given the possibility for it to rain for days here during rainy season, we planned accordingly; six days = six chances for it not to rain during our photo session. Well, first time was a charm! Although the clouds were threatening with a storm, the rain held off and provided a pretty dramatic backdrop for Kara and Justin’s baby bump photo session.
Due over Christmas, Kara was a glowing beauty and a joy to photograph. Add in the chemistry between Kara and her husband, Justin, and you have magic in front of the lens. The couple met while in school and are now both practicing Chiropractors. Justin and Kara have vacationed to Tamarindo several times, visiting Justin’s parents and staying at their beautiful home at El Nido. (Beautiful only begins to describe this home; I don’t think I would ever leave, except to go surf and watch sunset at the beach – which happens to be a thirty second walk down the path!) Despite tripping alarms and Justin (slightly) running over Kara’s foot while parking the car, baby Amellia certainly is going to be one lucky baby girl, with such loving and fun parents and trips to visit her grandparents in Costa Rica!
