Family photos Tamarindo Costa Rica at Casa Cook – Pass Family –
One of the highlights of photographing people is that I get to meet some pretty awesome people and hear their stories. A couple weeks ago, Cameron emailed me inquiring about family photos to help commemorate her father’s retirement as a Delta pilot during the family’s retirement celebration vacation in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Not only was I stoked about the opportunity to photograph the Pass family, but also was excited to meet another aviation family. My Grandfather was a pilot for PanAm, my mother was a PanAm stewardess, my father worked for PanAm, and my ‘aunt’ flew for Delta!
From the moment I met Cameron and her family, I could not have felt more welcome. The warmth and bond that this family shares radiates – you can’t help but not feel loved! True Southern charm and hospitality at its finest!
And to say the least, the Pass family certainly knows how to do a family vacation, as well as how to celebrate a great man, Captain Mark Pass. The family, all fifteen of them(!), spent the week in Tamarindo staying beachfront at Casa Cook. They played on the beach, surfed the waves at Capitan Suizo, went deep sea fishing, and got all dressed up for some beautiful family photos.
To top off “Shookies” retirement celebration, after 38 years of flying for Delta, last week Captain Pass took his last flight in the cockpit on Delta 356 from Liberia to Atlanta. The best part was that his beautiful family was board that very same flight, celebrating his years as a pilot and sending him off to retirement with lots of love! Congratulations Mark!!!
Pura Vida,
Kristen
