Family Photographer in Tamarindo Costa Rica – Kalik Family:
Meet Alex and little Ava. For the past two and a half months, their summer vacation has consisted of playing on the beach in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, waking up in the morning to the sounds of the Howler monkeys, and eating some pretty delicious frozen yogurt at Tamarindo’s new shop, Sol Frozen Yogurt. Yes, that’s right, Alex and Ava have spent their whole summer break in Costa Rica – – how lucky are these two? They certainly have topped AJ and Keila’s three week summer vacation in Tamarindo!
With only a couple weeks left on their Costa Rica adventure, Lauren, Alex and Ava’s mom, knew she just had to fit in a family photo session on the beach in Tamarindo before they headed back to New Jersey. Thankfully, the Kalik’s schedule was pretty flexible, so we were able to schedule the session during an afternoon when it was low tide in Tamarindo. Low tide = more beach to play with! Then all we had to do was cross our fingers that it would not rain the afternoon of our session.
With a building storm coming over the hills to Tamarindo, the Kalik’s and I were ever so fortunate to have a beautiful, golden hour for photos before the heavens opened up. I am not kidding you that just as the sun was setting over the Pacific Ocean, the storm started to envelope town. I think I was crossing every finger and toe during the session that the storm would slow its marching pace!
The threatening storm didn’t bother Alex nor Ava one bit. Alex, a ball of energy, ran around on the beach and showed me his best funny face several times. Coming off a cold, Ava loved snuggling with her mom and riding on the shoulder’s of her father. But I think the true highlight of the family photo session was when Alex and Ava’s parents let them get wet and play in a low tide pool. Ava seemed to transform into a little fish and felt right at home!
