Hacienda Pinilla Costa Rica Family Photographer – Verrue Family –

The family bond that the Verrue family shares is extraordinary. From the moment I walked into beautiful Casa Orquidea in Hacienda Pinilla, I could not have felt more welcomed and “at home” with this family. Marking a very special 50th wedding anniversary, Sandy and Randy decided to celebrate in Costa Rica with their children and grandchildren. And even though half the family lives in Washington and the other half in Northern California, this distance just makes their bond stronger. Stronger as in Emma travels to Washington for the summers to spend time with her two cousins, Jacqui and Dani! (And when they are not together, they are texting each other all the time.)

Stronger as in even though the rain tried to put a damper on our family photo session, this family was all smiles. Luckily the rain was just a quick passing “drizzle storm”, although I think the Verrue family would have been game to play in the rain for their family photos! Plus, the benefit of the late afternoon rain in Costa Rica was that it set the stage for a stunning sunset. Scratch that, PHENOMENAL sunset. As the sun passed through the gray rain clouds just over the horizon, the sky started to light up with gold and pink. And the sky just kept getting better and better after the sun set. The Verrue women played in the crashing waves while taking in such a spectacular ocean view.

To say the least, the Verrue family knows how to do a family vacation. Only on their third day during their vacation in Costa Rica, the family had spent the day beachside at one of my favorite spots, Lola’s in Playa Avellanas, relaxed at The Beach Club at Hacienda Pinilla, surfed in Tamarindo, dined at another one of my favorites, Panga’s Beach Club, and taken family photos with yours truly. In addition to all of this, they plan to go fishing and horseback riding. All I can say is that I would be honored to be adopted into this family!!
