Photographer Playa Conchal Costa Rica – Baweja Family –

Rainy season in Costa Rica is about as unpredictable as a coin toss; it either will rain or it will not. There is no doppler radar to show exactly where a rainstorm is tracking or when exactly it is going to rain. Consequently, as a natural light photographer who photographs quite frequently outdoors, I always need to have a good Plan B when scheduling a photo shoot in rainy season. I then cross all my fingers and toes that the rain holds off for Plan A. Especially when scheduling a same day family photo shoot in Playa Conchal Costa Rica.

Fortunately enough, the rain held off for last Saturday’s family photos at The Westin in Playa Conchal (Plan A), because it POURED the whole next morning during what would have been Plan B! I can’t thank the weather gods enough for a dry afternoon because I had such a great time photographing the Baweja’s, Gary, Sonia, Raj, and Arjun, on their last day of their Costa Rican family vacation.

The family certainly took advantage of a nice afternoon, renting horses to ride during their family photos on Playa Conchal. The youngest of the Baweja boys, Arjun, loved the afternoon horseback ride. And as a photographer I loved photographing the family enjoying their horseback ride; renting horses during a photo session is a great way to have a fun afternoon captured in addition to having some pretty awesome family photos with horses!

After returning the horses and a quick outfit change, we headed back to the beach for more family photos. Beach photos = no shoes required, but Raj was very reluctant to take off his sneakers! Apparently Raj has never liked sand, even as a baby! With a little pleading, the sneakers came off and soon Arjun had Raj playing in the shoreline with him. The bond that the boys share as brothers is special, despite being polar opposites!

I am stoked that I got to spend the last afternoon of the Baweja’s Costa Rican vacation with them and capture their beautiful family bond. They certainly know how to have a fun family vacation, starting their Costa Rican adventure at the Volcano in Arenal and ending it in beautiful Playa Conchal! They even celebrated Arjun’s 10th birthday during the trip – what a great way to spend a birthday!
