Playa Avellanas, Costa Rica –
All things considered, Playa Tamarindo, Costa Rica is not that big of a town, BUT it is the second largest beach town in Costa Rica. As a popular tourist destination, I am lucky to have a constant flow of family and friends visiting Tamarindo from oversees. But it is not too often that I have friends that live within Costa Rica come to visit Tamarindo, especially when that friend lives right down the street from a great surf break, Playa Hermosa, a 10 minute drive from the largest beach town in Costa Rica, Jaco, AND about an hour away from the capital city, San Jose.
So when my friend Michelle messaged me to let me know that she was spending the weekend in Playa Negra, about a 30 minute drive from Tamarindo, AND was just so happening to pass through Tamarindo that afternoon, I was stoked. Some delicious seared tuna tacos and ginger lemonade later at one of my favorite restaurants in Tamarindo, Green Papaya, I was even more stoked that Michelle had time to hang out the following day at one of my favorite beaches, Playa Avellanas.
What could be more perfect then a beautiful beach front restaurant, Lola’s, some cold cervezas, and a golden hour afternoon surf? How about a mini sunset lifestyle photo session with my beautiful friend and her beautiful surf bikini line, Dkoko? Pura Vida. 🙂
