Rustic Bohemian Wedding in Costa Rica at Pangas Beach Club || Antinea and George:
Sometimes the love of your life is hiding right under your nose. And sometimes, the love of your life is hiding under your nose since your high school days. Antinea first laid eyes on George back in high school as he walked across their high school soccer field and was immediately smitten. Who was that cute soccer player that she never had noticed before? The attraction sparked a friendship, but it wasn’t until three years ago that Antinea and George became more than friends. Antinea, a beautiful, free spirit, had plans to explore Costa Rica alone – – that us until she told George her vacation plans. Intrigued by Antinea, George suggested he accompany her on her trip, especially since several of his family members lived in Costa Rica. To be more accurate, he convinced Antinea to extend her Costa Rica trip and stay with his family in Costa Rica! Always up for an adventure, when George told his older brother about his Costa Rica trip with Antinea, he figured it was a perfect time to visit their family in Costa Rica. Well, as soon as George’s parents heard about their sons’ travel plans, they decided it was only fitting that they visit the family in Costa Rica as well! From traveling solo to attending a mini family reunion, Antinea figured it would be an adventure either way.
And what an adventure it was! Antinea and George travelled all over Costa Rica, visited George’s family and truly experienced the local culture. By the end of their trip, Antinea and George just knew that one day they would marry each other in this beautiful country. Fast forward two years later, George whisked Antinea to Lake Tahoe on a surprise nursing school trip to celebrate her finishing nursing school. On the first morning of their trip, Antinea woke up to hot cup of Starbucks coffee with a question written on the cup – – “Will you marry me?” Antinea felt like she was in a dream, a heavenly dream – – she of course said yes.
Remembering their magical trip to Costa Rica, Antinea and George immediately started planning their destination wedding – – a rustic bohemian wedding in Costa Rica. Well, let’s be honest – – Antinea, who is super creative, immediately started planning! The one thing she left in George’s hands was to research and find their wedding photographer – – y’all, let’s just say Antinea was so pleased with George’s research that he was gifted with not one, but two wakeboarding trips with his boys. (George, I’m so stoked to have helped!) Originally planning a smaller destination wedding, both sides of the whole family, RSVPed “yes” once they found out about Antinea and George’s wedding in Costa Rica!
Surrounded with so much love by family and friends from near and far (California, Salvador, Costa Rica, and New Jersey!), a little over a year after Antinea said “yes”, she said “I do.” Antinea was a bohemian vision in her intricate wedding dress. She simply radiated with so much love and joy. Antinea’s sister, Avery, custom made a boho reception headpiece and an intricate garter. The day couldn’t have been more beautiful or dreamlike. And y’all, magic hour in Costa Rica certainly didn’t disappoint. The magical, golden afternoon streamed through the clouds, surrounding Antinea and George. As the sun passed the horizon over the Pacific Ocean, the sky lit up with some of the most vibrant colors I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t have been more honored to photograph Antinea and George’s first sunset as husband and wife.
All of Antinea and George’s wedding decor was hand picked, purchased, and designed back in the states by the two of them. One month before the big day, they bubble wrapped all the breakables and strategically placed over 300 pounds of lighting and decor into three large heavy duty storage totes. Then they loaded them up onto a box truck driven by Jorges tio Elio. The boxes would then make it through Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras. Only close family and friends knew of their crazy concoction of a plan – – something almost all laughed at and said, “You guys would do this…”. Yes, they knew it was risky, but with all of their fingers and toes crossed EVERYTHING made it and looked more beautiful then they ever could ever have dreamed! (Thank you Antinea’s little sister Avery who delicately hand painted all the decor and to Antinea’s sister-in-law who with her expertise and help did the centerpiece arrangements!)
Antinea and George’s 150 guests enjoyed the golden afternoon and beautiful evening celebrating the couple at Pangas Beach Club in Tamarindo. DJ Teemoor kept the party going the whole evening. There was a dance off between the kids vs the Antinea + her bridesmaids, many rounds of shots, and several heartfelt toasts to the bride and groom. George gave his new wife one sexy lap dance as he took off her garter as their guests cheered them on. His groomsmen threw him in the air on not once, but twice during the night. And after last call at Pangas Beach Club, the party continued into the night back at Casa de las Tortugas in Playa Langosta – – this crew certainly knew how to celebrate!
Antinea and George, here is to a lifetime of love and happiness! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for asking me to be a part and capture your beautiful day! Congrats you two!

Kristen
