Savannah Maternity Photography – Luciana + Lawrence + Baby Bump George:
Sometimes Mother Nature likes to make other plans. Other plans as in brewing a major hurricane and then sending it straight to Savannah to arrive on the exact day as my sister-in-law’s baby shower. I wish that last weekend would have been different – – that my family would have been able to gather to celebrate the coming of my first nephew, baby George. But instead, I flew from Costa Rica to Miami a day earlier than planned to get ahead of the Hurricane Matthew. Then I waited out the very disagreeable force of Mother Nature in Miami this whole past week at my brother and sister-in-law’s in Miami. Yes, we had to cancel the baby shower, but Hurricane Matthew had the potential to do so much more damage than it did – – my parents and their home in Savannah certainly dodged a bullet. No fallen trees on their house, and no storm surge into their home.
One of the benefits of being ‘stuck’ in Miami this past week was the opportunity to photograph such a beautiful time in my brother and sister-in-law’s lives – – their growing baby bump called George. We wandered around Coconut Grove with our Chihuahuas (yes, owning Chihuahuas must be a Brown family thing!) and explored a historic site, Barnacle Park. And as the sun started to set, during golden hour I led my brother and sister-in-law to Entrance Park in Coral Gables. I loved being surprised at pretty much every turn in these charming neighborhoods, with charming Spanish Colonial architecture, gorgeous fountains in traffic circles, and water tower lighthouses. My sister-in-law, Luciana, glowed and the love my brother and Luciana share just radiated. I can’t wait to meet my first nephew George in December!
XOXO,
Kristen
