Travel Photos: North Shore of Long Island, NY

Growing up, once a month my family drove out from New Jersey to my grandparents’ house on the North Shore of Long Island. My brother and I used to run around exploring all weekend – – our favorite was running through the woods from my grandparents’ house to the local elementary school where there was this amazing wood fort playground. We would spend hours upon hours playing on this fort. While I was in high school my grandma moved to North Carolina, but I still loved heading out to the Island to visit my Aunt and Uncle, who have a beautiful, old home they hand restored on Northport Bay.

Needless to say, the North Shore of Long Island is like a second home and old stomping grounds for me. It was so great to spend a couple of days on the North Shore during my trip to the US last month, refilling with a little piece of my Long Island “home” of old fishing villages and nautical charm.

Pura Vida,
Kristen
