Wedding at Pangas Beach Club in Tamarindo || Kate + Matt:
Eight years ago Kate and Matt first met at Camp Golden Pond in Maine as camp counselors. Since then, it’s been one heck of an adventure for this couple — from an epic proposal on top of Lion’s Head in South Africa, keeping their relationship strong during long distances, hiking mountains and surfing swells — from swell to summit, to their wedding at Pangas Beach Club in Tamarindo on Saturday. And just like Kate and Matt’s great sense of adventure, the weather on their wedding day tried to take us all on one heck of a ride with rain off and on all day. But you know what they say – rain is good luck on a wedding day, and just as Kate was finishing getting ready, the rain stopped and held off for Kate and Matt to say ‘I Do’ under the most majestic tree with the most beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean at Pangas Beach Club.
Kate wanted to incorporate the natural beauty of Costa Rica, and Colette’s Flowers and Pangas Beach Club did a beautiful job, using palm tree fronds to line the beach ceremony aisle, and unicorn shells from the beach and natural greenery on the dining table. As the icing on the cake, Kate’s mom Robyn added the most special touches, with a beautiful crochet runner hand made by Kate’s great-grandmother, handmade candles from Maine, and a stunning hand made quilt presented to Kate + Matt as a wedding gift. Oh, and we can’t forget one amazing + special bottle of rum from Kate’s hometown, Sag Harbor, NY, that was used to toast the newlyweds!! Without a doubt, so much love and happiness surrounded Kate + Matt on their wedding day. Congrats you two!
P.S. Kate, it was such a pleasure and honor to photograph your wedding day! I can’t believe it’s been almost two years since we first chatted about your wedding at Pangas Beach Club in Tamarindo over some awesome beers at Service Brewing Company back in Savannah. AND I definitely think I need to make a trip out to your new home in Seattle so we can grab some beers there too!
XOXO,
Kristen
