Family Photography in Costa Rica – Dean Family:
I tried to go 3 for 3 last week – – 3 photo shoots in 3 consecutive days without being rained out in the middle of rainy season in Costa Rica. Then the thundering started and the rain moved in so fast, down pouring minutes after I walked out of the front door to head to this afternoon’s family session. To top it all off, of course the rain stopped 20 minutes later, right before the scheduled start time for the Dean’s family photos. With still looming dark clouds, we decided to reschedule for the following day.
I was so worried whole day leading up to the afternoon rain date for the Dean family photo shoot – – the morning was gorgeous and of course as the day carried on, some pretty menacing rain clouds started inching their way to Tamarindo. I walked outside at 2PM and looked to the East to see darkness. I honestly felt like the weather gods didn’t want me to do these family photos! So I called the Dean’s, moved the shoot up, and said I was blocking off the whole afternoon for them – – if we had to run inside-and-out in between the passing rain showers (the rain storms here in Costa Rica during rainy season on last about 20 minutes), we were going to get these photos done before the family returned back to Texas the next morning!
I am so glad that the weather gods graced me with an hour of no rain because then I wouldn’t have had the chance to capture this handsome little man, Samuel, showing off his ninja moves to me.
Or catch sisters Madison and Sofia sharing a moment of giggles.
To say the least, the Dean Family made my job that much more fun! And this family certainly knows how to do a vacation in Costa Rica, from staying beach front at condos Horizontes del Mar in Playa Langosta to dune buggy riding up the hills to 360 degree spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and beautiful Costa Rican landscape. Samuel caught the surfing bug (I’m so stoked for you Sam!) and the whole family loved the new experience of zip lining through the Costa Rican jungle.
Thank you so much Maria, Lance, Madison, Sofia, Samuel, Jerry and Nana for such a fun afternoon and the best tip ever – – a half pint of Ben & Jerry’s “Chunky Monkey”!!
Pura Vida,
Kristen
