Playa Grande, Costa Rica –

In Northwest Costa Rica, the month of November is the last month of rainy season and usually the rains start to taper off. Except for this year. November ended up being the rainiest month of rainy season in Tamarindo; it rained every day for three weeks!

So when Jen and Chris’ wedding day came with two full weeks of rain leading up to their date, they decided to bury a bottle of bourbon under the alter to ward off the threatening dark clouds. Heck, if it worked before for Jen’s sister’s wedding back in Texas, it has to work in Costa Rica! Despite the looming rain storm, Jen and Chris could not have picked a more beautiful place to get married.

Playa Grande, a 30 minute drive from Tamarindo, not only is a beautiful and protected Costa Rican National Park, but also is a fantastic place to surf and photograph – two of Chris’ passions. The couple met each other 15 years ago at a concert and wed in front of their closest family and friends. Jen wore a beautiful flower pin from her Grandmother as her something borrowed and carried with her beautiful tropical bouquet a locket that had a picture of her parents inside. The joy and love that surrounded Jen and Chris the whole afternoon was truly beautiful to photograph – from Jen getting ready all the way to toasting the night away.

Jen + Chris, I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
